4am Study Session

A student at a desk trying to keep studying while a shadow creature stalks them.

Gameplay

• A shadow monster  lurks, approaches, attacks, then retreats
• Your lantern is your only defense; the monster flees when it's lit. Let the fuel run out and it attacks
• Click the lantern to refuel it and repel the creature
• Sanity bar drains when the lantern dies, when the monster approaches, or when it attacks  hits zero and you die
• Fake mini-lanterns appear near the real one with a subtle amber glow — they look almost identical
  
• Clicking a decoy costs -16 fuel and -10 sanity, a punishing penalty
• A brief green screen flash confirms you hit a decoy
• More decoys spawn as difficulty rises (up to 3 active at once)
• Decoys fade out after ~5–8 seconds, keeping you guessing
